Minimum Wage Increases for Maryland and Montgomery County Effective July 1, 2017

Minimum wage rates for Maryland and Montgomery County increased effective July 1, 2017, as follows:

Maryland:  $9.25
Montgomery County:  $11.50

The current minimum wage for Prince George's County is $10.75; however, it will increase to $11.50 on October 1, 2017.

Minimum wage employees working in Montgomery County and Prince George's County are entitled to be paid at the highest rate applicable to their work location.  Exceptions from paying the full minimum wage at the state or county level may apply to tipped employees, employees of amusement or recreational establishments, or employees who are under 20 years of age.  In addition, exemptions from minimum wage or overtime requirements based on occupation, industry, or age may apply.
