Danielle H. Russell

Danielle is an associate in the firm’s litigation department and health care practice group.  She has experience in health care and insurance defense with an emphasis on medical malpractice, health care liability, general liability, business litigation, and premises liability litigation.  She often represents healthcare providers, including hospital systems, pharmacies, individual practitioners, long-term care facilities, and other medical groups and professionals in state and federal court and administrative proceedings.  She also represents businesses in premises and retail liability and breach of contract actions.


Her work for clients includes:

  • Representing healthcare providers and practitioners in medical malpractice and health care liability lawsuits. She has defended hospitals, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical groups and professionals in all aspects of health care liability. She has also represented healthcare practitioners before professional and state boards; and

  • Defending a variety of clients in insurance defense litigation involving tort and personal injury, premises liability, retail and hospitality liability, negligence, and contract issues.

Danielle served as a law clerk for The Honorable Camille R. McMullen of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.

She earned her law degree with a concentration in Advocacy & Dispute Resolution from the University of Tennessee College of Law.  She served as Managing Editor of the Tennessee Law Review and was awarded the Third Year Prize, which recognizes the contributions of third-year members and editors.


During law school, Danielle represented indigent clients in the Advocacy Clinic, one of the longest running legal clinics in the country.  She was awarded the CALI Award for Excellence in Business Associations and was named the 2014-2015 Woolf Advocacy Scholar.
